In order to help the first-year postgraduates to strengthen scientific research and carry out scientific research as early as possible, we invited Dr. Fu Xinjin from the library to give a special lecture entitled "Literature Information Retrieval Strategy and Related Skills of Database Use " to the first-year postgraduates of our college on the morning of November 4, 2019. Yang Weihua, Deputy Head of the college, presided over the lecture.
Before the lecture, the library and the college jointly held the launching ceremony of "Discipline Service into the College—theCollege of Mathematics ". The delegates directed by Gong Peilin(Director of the library), Gao Hang(Secretary of the Party Committee of the college),Chai Yuzhen(Deputy Head of the college) and Yang Weihua(Deputy Head of the college) attended the launching ceremony.
In the lecture, Dr. Fu first taught the students to understand the literature from the perspective of the data items of the literature, and paved the way for the introduction of literature search from three aspects: the advanced retrieval of database, professional retrieval function and retrieval strategy formulation. After that, taking Wanfang and SCI database as examples, Dr. Fu demonstrated the whole process of searching and obtaining literature. Then Dr. Fu introduced the relevant services of the library and gave a demonstration with examples in detailed and popular language, which achieved good effect. Finally, the teachers and the students attending the lecture exchanged their ideas.
About Fu Xinjin：
Fu Xinjin, deputy research librarian, majoring in Information Sciences, graduated from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2014, with a doctoral degree in Management. She, a national patent practice talent selected by National Intellectual Property Administration, is conducting postdoctoral research in the Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of China. In 2014, she worked in the Information Consulting Department of the library of Taiyuan University of technology, in charge of patent analysis and training, science and technology novelty retrieval, collection and citation retrieval and so on. She mainly studied the theory and practice of information metrology. Up to date, she has published 6 papers indexed by CSSCI.
